Jan-Lennard Struff wins 6:2, 6:0 against Holger Rune in just 45 minutes

Taylor Fritz wins 6:3, 6:4 against Cristian Garin

Jan-Lennard Struff has reached the final of the BMW Open for the second time in his career. The 33-year-old beat the two-time champion from Munich, Holger Rune, in quick succession. "I played a perfect match, just awesome," said the man from Warstein afterwards. Tomorrow he will face Taylor Fritz. The American didn't give Cristian Garin a chance. "We both serve well, it will be difficult to get a break, it will come down to a few decisive points," he said with regard to tomorrow's match.

The two have played each other twice so far. Their record is even, but the matches on hard court and grass were played a few years ago. It is therefore completely open how this final will turn out. Even though Struff believes his opponent is the favourite: "Taylor has played well here, is higher in the rankings, has fast strokes - it will be a tough match."

It will be Struff's second final in Munich since 2021 and it would be his first ever title on the tour. The determination and intensity yesterday suggest that he is determined to change that today. Fritz has never won a tournament on clay, but has already won the title in Delray Beach this season alone.
