Munich. The field of players for this year's BMW Open by Bitpanda has it all. After the registration deadline for the ATP 500 event ended yesterday evening - traditionally four weeks before the start of the tournament - the organiser can now announce an absolutely world-class field. Fans and visitors can look forward to an impressive number of illustrious names from 11 - 19 April (main draw from 13 April). Led by star players Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Alexander Bublik, a total of eight players from the top 20 of the world rankings will be playing at MTTC Iphitos - a first for the traditional Munich tournament. Among them are two of the most exciting youngsters on the tour: Czech Jakub Menšík (20), winner of the Miami Masters 2025, and Italian Flavio Cobolli (23), who already secured the title at the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco in 2026. The top 20 is completed by the Italian Luciano Darderi, who has already won the clay court tournament in Santiago this year, and last year's Munich semi-finalist Francisco Cerúndolo.

On the entry list in Munich for the first time: One of the current shooting stars par excellence, Joao Fonseca from Brazil. The 19-year-old caused a furore last year with two tournament victories in Basel and Buenos Aires and is known for his absolute offensive tennis.

They will be joined by other prominent names such as Canadian Denis Shapovalov and Pole Hubert Hurkacz, both former top 10 players in the world rankings. The 37-year-old Marin Cilic, US Open winner in 2014 and Wimbledon finalist in 2017, and Stefanos Tsitsipas will also be there. The Greek will make his debut in Munich in mid-April and is likely to be one of the players you want to avoid in the first round. The 27-year-old can already look back on an impressive career: three-time champion at the Monte Carlo Masters, winner of the ATP Finals and two-time finalist at a Grand Slam tournament.

"We are proud to be able to present tennis fans with the most high-calibre field of players in the tournament's history this year. This underlines the fact that Munich is already a top address on the ATP Tour in its second year as an ATP 500 tournament," says organiser Christian Okon, MMP Event.

"With eight top 20 players, absolute star players and some of the most exciting young talents on the tour, this year's field is more attractive than ever before. Plus big names like Marin Cilic and Stefanos Tsitsipas - that promises high-class and spectacular matches from day one," added Patrik Kühnen, Tournament Director of the BMW Open by Bitpanda.

Last tickets available for the first days of the tournament

Visitors will be able to watch world-class tennis from the first round on the Monday and Tuesday of the tournament. All players, including Zverev, Fritz, Shelton, Bublik, Fonseca and Tsitsipas, will start their first matches on these days. Last tickets are still available for Monday - Thursday at www.bmwopen.de/en. All tickets for the Friday quarter-finals and the final weekend are already sold out. So it's worth being quick if you want to see the top stars live in Munich.
