One player has won the BMW Open three times so far: Philipp Kohlschreiber in 2007, 2012 and 2016. Alexander Zverev would love to be the second player to complete this hat-trick, following his successes in 2017 and 2018. He has regularly reached the quarter-finals since winning the tournament, but then it's always been over. Let's hope that's not a bad omen today against motocross fan Tallon Griekspoor from the Netherlands - an opponent who should not be underestimated: "It's quite a task," says Zverev,
"He plays very good tennis and I have to be at my best."
Griekspoor is the world number 37 and defeated Zverev in the first round of Indian Wells a few weeks ago. But he doesn't want to think about that any more, as Zverev has built up a lot of confidence in the first rounds of the BMW Open by Bitpanda and says: "I feel good and want to show that."
