The Argentinian defeated David Goffin 6:2, 6:4 after 1:15 hours. The 26-year-old quickly had the match under control: When the first serve came into the court, he almost always won the point, he returned strongly and put a lot of pressure on with his forehand. In the second set, he had the chance to go 3-0 up early on, but got sloppy on his own serve at 40-0 and opened the door for Goffin again. Dangerous against an opponent who had turned the match around in the previous round after losing the first set. This time, however, it wasn't enough and Cerundolo finished the match in two sets.
